Mònica Doria achieved an important victory in the whitewater slalom category at the European Championships held in the Olympic Channel in Vaires-sur-Marne, France, this past weekend.

The Andorran paddler was crowned European Champion in the C1 category, beating the French competitor, Laurène Roisin, by more than three seconds. This victory follows an outstanding performance in the final, in which Doria expressed her satisfaction at having completed the downhill run as she had imagined, particularly on an Olympic course that will host the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Dòria’s victory at the European Whitewater Slalom Championships is a significant milestone in her sporting career, as well as for Andorran sport in general. It underlines her continued growth and consolidation at the top of the whitewater slalom elite, establishing her as one of the leading figures in international canoeing.l.

This European title also marks the start of a new Olympic cycle for Doria, who has already proven her ability to compete at the highest level in international events. She is now focusing on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, which would be her third having already competed in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.


She continues to be a role model for paddlers and for Andorran sport.
