Spain Thrills with Its Athletics Champions on the Road to the Tokyo World Championships


From August 1 to 3, the Natalia Rodríguez Municipal Stadium in Tarragona hosted the 2025 Spanish National Athletics Championships. Three days of pure excitement, with the track on fire and a passionate crowd, where Spanish athletes shone with memorable performances.

Marta García, reina de los 5.000 m


Marta García once again delivered a historic performance. With a time of 14:59.23, she claimed her fourth consecutive national title and also broke the championship record. A crushing dominance from start to finish that confirms her excellent form ahead of the Worlds.

New Champions on the Track


Middle-distance and hurdles also provided unforgettable moments:

  • Marta Serrano took gold in the 3,000 m steeplechase, consolidating her progress and proving she is ready for major international events.
  • Esther Guerrero, a benchmark in the 1,500 m, climbed once more to the top of the podium in a strategic race she controlled with mastery.
  • In the hurdles, Quique Llopis flew over the 110 m, confirming his outstanding technical and physical level.

Silver with a Taste of the Future

Middle-distance and hurdles also provided unforgettable moments:

  • Marta Pérez, second in the 1,500 m, showing consistency and experience in one of the most competitive events of the championship.
  • Mariano García, who fought until the very end in the 800 m, giving us an intense and thrilling race.

With these performances, all of them confirm their qualification for the Tokyo World Championships, where they will represent Spain and aim to make their mark against the world’s elite.
