Van Doorn and Wust: leadership and constancy from day one
The duo of Rosa van Doorn and Janina Wust (Team Buff-Megamo) set the pace from the first stage, taking the lead with a clear advantage. They managed the race intelligently throughout the following days, regulating their efforts on the long, technical climbs and pushing hard on the more challenging sections to consolidate their position.
Stutzmann and Gesche: strategy, power and recovery in detail
In the men’s category, Marc Stutzmann and Sebastian Gesche (Klimatiza Orbea Team) demonstrated impressive progression. After a cautious start, they increased their pace on the third day — one of the toughest in terms of altitude and elevation gain — and pulled ahead of their rivals to establish themselves as leaders.
Luis Martínez and Ibon Zugasti: absolute protagonists in the Elite Open category
A special mention goes to the spectacular performance of Luis Martínez (Klimatiza Factory Team) and Ibon Zugasti (Orbea Fox Factory Team), who dominated the Elite Open category with authority, achieving an undisputed victory. From the first stage, they set a consistently high pace, combining Ibon’s experience with Luis’s explosiveness and freshness.
A result that speaks of preparation and confidence
Both pairs dominated their category in a race where every decision, every gel and every sip counts, and where the body is pushed to its limits. At 226ERS, we are proud to have played a part in their preparation by providing products that enabled these exceptional cyclists to perform at their best, supporting their energy levels, health, and performance.
The victories of Rosa van Doorn and Janina Wust, Marc Stutzmann and Sebastian Gesche, and Luis Martínez and Ibon Zugasti not only reflect their talent and dedication, but also the importance of comprehensive planning, including training, strategy and quality nutrition.
Congratulations, champions! We will continue to support you every kilometre and every challenge.
