The VEGAN PROTEIN BAR contains almost 30% vegetable protein, which is equivalent to more than 11g of protein per bar. Every bar is also enriched with ‘superfoods’ such as goji berries and chia seeds. The bars are perfect to take after long or intense workouts, but the quality of their natural ingredients also make them a healthy snack at any time. An average person needs 0.8 grams of protein per kilo per day, but for endurance athletes and sportspeople, that amount increases to 1.4 grams per kilo per day.
Proteins are part of every cell and form about 16% of the body, making up hormones, antibodies, and enzymes. In addition, they are an essential nutrient as they act as a buffer to maintain the acid-base balance of the body. They are key for the synthesis of muscle fibers, the bone remodeling and oxygen transport to the body, among many other functions.
All proteins in the new VEGAN PROTEIN BAR come from peas and rice:
- Pea protein, with a high proportion of essential and non-essential amino acids, is the richest natural source of arginine, which is known for its great contribution to the repair and growth of muscle tissue. It has a high bioavailability and digestibility.
- Rice protein is rich in nutrients and low in calories. It prevents fatty acids from being stored, as it activates lipase in the liver and in the walls of the blood vessels.
The bars come in two flavors, very gentle on the palate:
- Cherry, with organic cherry flakes and pumpkin seeds.
- Chocolate & Orange, chocolate flavor with bits of candied orange and organic pumpkin seeds.
