Introducing the new VEGAN SYMBIOTIC COMPLEX.

A sportsperson’s intestines process a larger volume of nutrients than those of a normal individual. An imbalanced diet that is poor in fibre, together with daily stress (caused both by the physical exertion required by training and by the demands of working, not to mention all the other factors that affect us on a daily basis) or illness, can cause microbial imbalances and alter our digestive functions, leading to stomach ailments, inflammation, fatigue and recurrent infections, given that nutrients fail to be absorbed.

VEGAN SYMBIOTIC COMPLEX helps to maintain the proper functioning of the intestines and regulate the immune system through its active ingredient butyrate, its probiotic strains and vitamins C and D.

Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA). This kind of fatty acid is used by the cells of the intestine as an energy substrate that maintains cellular integrity and functions. In order to obtain butyrate naturally, our gut microbiota must ferment the dietary fibre that we cannot digest and, as a result of this fermentation process, butyrate is produced.

Just 0.7 grams of butyrate is equivalent to 5 grams of fibre fermented by our gut flora in optimum condition. If our flora is not in an optimum state, the production of butyrate will be insufficient. The ingestion of butyrate in pill form helps to reduce intestinal permeability and general inflammation throughout the intestines.

Different events such as a low-fibre diet, the taking of antibiotics for viral conditions and emotional and physical stress, all increasingly common features of life today, can trigger an imbalance in our intestinal flora, thus reducing the generation of butyrate and the functional capacity of our intestinal barrier, which can lead to problems and ailments. These can even become permanent if they are not addressed in time.

The formula of this new probiotic includes six bacterial strains, five of which produce lactic acid, in addition to the yeast known as Saccharomyces Boulardii:

  • Saccharomyces Boulardii: this yeast enhances intestinal barrier function and boosts the availability of digestive enzymes and absorption of nutrients.
  • L. Plantarum: this bacterial strain enhances barrier function and inhibits the adherence of pathogenic bacteria to the intestinal epithelium.
  • L. Rhamnosus: this strain boosts the intestinal immune system thanks to the larger number of cytokine-producing cells.
  • L. Acidophilus: this strain increases lactic acid, which inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria within the gut. It leads to an increased production of butyrate.
  • Bifidobacterium animalis lactis and Bifidobacterium bifidum: these strains boost the digestive function. They help with the digestion of lactose and fibres, which are associated with a range of intestinal symptoms.

Furthermore:

  • Vitamin C: this vitamin boosts the immune system both during and after exercise, in addition to serving as a powerful antioxidant, helping the body in high-stress situations.
  • Vitamin D: this vitamin helps to the ensure the correct functioning of the calcium metabolism and strengthens the immune system.
Users are recommended to take two capsules a day at breakfast-time, accompanied by a high-fibre food intake.
