If you are a sedentary person, when you have pregnant yourself, it is not a better time to start exercising, but if you are a person accustomed to continuously doing it, when you get pregnant, many questions arise. This has been the case of Anna Comet, currently pregnant with almost 8 months and elite trail runner. Among its wide palmares we highlight the Two victories in Everest Trail Race 2014 and 2015, the 2nd position in The Coastal Challenge, the 3rd position in the 2015 World Cup General of Ultras and a long list of both national and international podiums in Trail Run. Recently we have seen it participate in non -competitive mode in some quotes of the season such as the Buff Epic Trail, it takes the Roc Gros in its area, the Race Dels Bombers in Barcelona ...

That is why we wanted to talk to her and clarify some of these doubts.

Congratulations Anna! How are you about your pregnancy?

It has not been an easy pregnancy, I suppose like most, there are so many changes that the body goes crazy. Above all I have had many problems with sugar and finally I have diagnosed a gestational diabetes, but I must confess that since we control it I find me much better and the end of pregnancy is being more enjoyment.

Did you reduce sports intensity at the first moment you knew you were pregnant?

Yes of course! I have not stopped at any time, I go to run or swim every day. During the winter I went to ski and now during spring and summer I go out a lot to the mountain. I also go to the gym to continue with the work of strength, always adapted to each moment of pregnancy and we control everything with my gynecologist and the specialist physiotherapists. Always with the premise of doing it at low intensity and never looking for performance. Now he doesn't touch.

How have you taken that sports downturn?

Quite better than I expected. I must confess that I miss and train Bumper, have goals and look for races to squeeze and excite myself. The fact of staying very active has been ideal to feel good and balanced with myself. I have realized that pregnant can do many things and, in different ways, I have enjoyed this activatedD and these months.

In the field of nutrition and supplementation, have you had to make any change?

Yes I have made some changes since during pregnancy it is not recommended neither the products that carry caffeine nor those that incorporate BCAAS. Anyway, the luck I have to have the support of 226ers is that their products are with a very important natural basis and have continued to accompany me in all my adventures during pregnancy. I always say it, I am an addict to the Evo Baro de Potata!

Do you plan to re -fall to the competition once you have given birth?

Yes, no doubt! In fact, my head is going to a thousand with all the things I want to do and with important projects at a competitive level that I feel like being able to carry out and share it with my family. Anyway, I'm not in a hurry, I firmly think that it is worth recovering well from delivery, adapting well to the new family situation and, with a quiet and balanced soul, resume my life again. Which means returning to high competition.

What recommendations would you give to a girl who usually performs sports at the time she gets pregnant?

First that I do not listen to anyone but the specialists and on the other hand that she has very clear things of how she wants to take her pregnancy, since it is something extremely personal. You find people of all kinds: they tell you countless things and that can get to doubt a lot. Especially making sure that pregnancy does not have any risk or for the baby or for the mother and from here listen to the body that is very wise and marks you at all times how far you can go. There are very good specialists, such as pelvic soil physiotherapists, gynecologists with an increasingly open mind and sports doctors who can help us know how far we can reach.

For me, pregnancy has been a very important and interesting time of personal reflection at the same time, during which I have understood many things of mine that are making me grow as a person and as an athlete.
