Badlands is the race without non-STOP assistance. It is ultra -cyclicism in its purest state, adrenaline, resistance, strategy and self -knowledge, a brutal experience.

Participants from all over the world, lovers of Grave and MTB, will meet again in this Non-Stop adventure, where not only the physicist is important, but also and, above all, the mind.

What is a Non-Stop race?

It is an exceptional career, where there is an exit and a goal, but the reward will not be taken a prize or a trophy, but the enormous pride and personal satisfaction of arriving and overcoming all the adversities, which is not little, of one of the toughest bicycle routes, at least at European level, today.

The route of more than 750 km, crosses spectacular places and, sometimes, inhospitable peninsula. Badlands follows a route in which 85% is off-road through Granada, Hoya de Guadix, Gorafe desert, the Tabernas desert, Cabo de Gata and the Veleta passage to 3.212m.

The nutritional strategy to face this Non-Stop race

For a tough test as Badlands of more than 750 kilometers in self -supply crossing desert places, continuous hydration and food are an equally important issue as the physical form to cross the finish line. In the same way that you could not reach the goal without having trained for it, it cannot be done if what does not need is not given.

Hydration

That said, We must start talking about sodium. This mineral is the one that is most lost during physical exercise and it is for this reason why it must be taken into account that for each liter of water we have to take a gram of sodium at the time to have a balanced ratio between the liquid and this salt. Keep in mind that almost all sports or sports supplements provide sodium, so you should establish your strategy adding.

It is also necessary to be clear that not everyone falls as possible the same amounts of salt, and if that is added influence of the external temperature, the humidity, the level of effort or the clothes we are wearing, it can even more condition having a greater sweating.
