Javier Gómez Noya retires from triathlon with a legendary trajectory

Thanks Noya for so many joys! We will continue walking together.
After 26 years competing in triathlon, I would like to announce that I retire as a professional athlete at the end of this season.
It is never an easy decision and I still love to train every day, but my body is suffering for assimilating the training load that I know I need to compete at the highest level. I have taken it to the limit for many years and I have had a career that not even in my craziest dreams I could have imagined so I think it is time to continue enjoying it, but with a little less intensity and stress.
It is possible that you make any more career this year, but not of the highest level. I am very grateful for the PTO for the possibility that it offered me to compete in the T100 and I assure you that I have tried with all my strength to be prepared, but for one reason or another it has not been possible. At illness before Miami, my mother's loss when I was in Singapore, injuries that deprived me of being in London or giving up well in San Francisco ... I did everything I could, but it has not worked so it is time to take a step back and take it more calmly.
Thank you very much for support during all these years, it has been an incredible trip! I am sure we will continue to see ourselves since I will continue to connect with this wonderful sport.
