Mediterranean Epic Triathlon: Victoria by Javier Gómez Noya

Last weekend the second edition of the Mediterranean Epic Triathlon in Oropesa del Mar (Castellón) was played.
This sports event brought together 750 triathletes, increasing 50% participation compared to the previous edition. Elite athletes have participated in this edition among which they stood out: Javier Gómez Noya, OSORO PELLO, Alberto Moreno, Saleta Castro and Marta Sánchez among others.
Mediterranean Epic Triathlon had 4 distances: Full, Half, Olympic and Sprint.
The swimming segment was led by Víctor Benages, very often from Noya and Guillem Rojas. Cycling was led by Pello Osoro, but it was in the race on foot where Gómez Noya won the final victory with a time of 3:39:48 followed by Pello Osoro more than 3 minutes and Alberto Moreno.
In the women's category, Marta Sánchez took the victory ahead of Raquel Rocha and Yaiza Sáiz.
Javier Gómez Noya won the victory in the Epic Triathlon, just a week after his victory in the Triathlon City of Santander, consolidating his return with two consecutive victories.

On Saturday the weather was favorable, with a clear sky after the heavy rains of the previous day. These are the segments to which the triathletes faced in the Epic Triathlon:- Swimming: 1.900m at 2 laps of 950m. - Cycling: 81 km and 830m D+ (2 laps of 40.5km and 415m D+). - Race on foot: 21 km, 3 turns of 7 km on a flat route.


“Last year I was ambassador of this race and unfortunately, for injury, I could not compete. This year I wanted to return and live a test with spectacular circuits and an organization of 10.
