The Traka: The Grance Paradise culminates with a cyclist palm tree 226ers
This weekend in Girona, cycling has been breathed in each of its corners with The Traka. 800 runners from 77 countries They have met in the best roads, landscapes and tracks in 5 distances with different routes: 50k, 100k, 200k, 360k and 560k (Adventure).
The Traka 360k: The distance par excellence
The Traka 360k route is the distance par excellence in Girona. The challenge started on Friday, May 3 with a new route of 345 kilometers and 3200 meters of positive slope. It was an atypical race due to rain, where Mud and water created a stage with an even more epic touch.
The resolution of the podium had an unexpected ending with several falls and changes in first positions in the last kilometers, Peter Stetina was finally first position (11: 42: 23h), followed by Rob Britton with 17 seconds apart and thirdly Chad Does (11: 57: 38h).
The French Alexys Brunel de Groove GraveL got a sixth position with 12: 05: 00h.
The Traka 200K: Johan Jacobs podium
The rest of the distances held over the weekend, were played under a radiant sun, but with the land full of storm sequelae. Saturday, May 4 was the time for The Traka 200K, the other favorite distance which added a total of 194 kilometers with 2300 meters of positive slope.
The battle for the podium had many more alternatives, since there was a large group in front. Up to nine participants went together for the timing control of kilometer 153 and no one managed to break the group until the last kilometers. Finally, it was the Czech Petro Vakoc who rose to the top of the podiras to sign a record of 6: 07: 08h. The Dutch Jasper Ockeloen in second place and The Movistar team sponsored by 226ers Johan Jacobs managed to be on the podium in a very close third place.
The Traka 100k: Alexys Brunel and Hugo Drechou de Groove Grave
On Sunday, May 5, the program of the sixth edition of The Traka closed the 100K distances, an opportunity for all types of cyclist to be part of the Grand Fiesta del Gravel, regardless of the level.
Nevertheless, The names that highlighted were those of Alexys Brunel and Hugo Drechou of the Grooove Grave team sponsored by 226ers. The cyclists who already did the 360k decided to repeat experience. The French and teammates toured 100k together, arriving at the goal practically hand and leaving one of the most anecdotal moments of the day. The third place in this competition was occupied by the British Thomas Couzens.
