Victoria de Antonio Martínez and Raúl Criado in Val d'Aran by Utmb 2023
Last week, from July 6 to 9, the third edition of the Val d’aran by utmb which hosted almost 5,000 runners. The event was affected by an adverse weather that forced to neutralize the two races that had been in motion: the 100 mile Vda and the 1120 kilometers CDH.
A storm, hail, strong bursts of wind and low temperatures endangered the safety of participants, volunteers and the organization itself.
Raúl Criado He took the victory with a time of 5h 41:08. "It has been incredible what you feel entering here in the finish line."
Val d’aran by Utmb 2023
La Val d’aran by Utmb, is one of the most massive races in the world of trail running for being the Major test of the prestigious world circuit UTMB World Series. Thousands of runners attend the appointment, with epicenter in the tourist town of Vielha, with the aim of getting Running Stones, aspiring to participate in the UTMB of Chamonix. Due to the cancellations, the career direction granted 6 running stones to the neutralized corridors of the CDH-110K and 2 running stones to those of the VDA. Of the five tests of the event, three of them could be held without problems:PDA
55 -kilometer race and 3,300 meters of positive slope. 1,400 runners participated who gathered in the town of Salardú to enjoy a layout visited by Colomèrs, the most emblematic glacier lake circus of the Pyrenees.

Quick 15 kilometers test and 800 meters of positive slope that started at the PLA de Beret. The male category was for Alicante Antonio Martínez with a time of 1h 13:12. Antonio Martínez got, thanks to his victory, a place for the OCC (UTMB) that will be held at the end of August.
"Short but very intense career from the beginning, in which he gave time for little -and much at the same time -, so we already have an excuse to return next year and continue exploring this paradise. Very happy of how there is going everything and wanting more" Alicante commented after his victory.
