Victories for Natalia Fischer and Sergio Mantecón in the Ibero -American Bike Marathon championship
Mantecon and Fischer They ventured to cross the puddle last week. The reason was neither more nor less than being part of the exit grill of the Ibero -American Championship, an international modality test bike-marrathon.
Unpublished to date, this new format brought together the best bikers in Central America, South America and the Iberian Peninsula. With departure and arrival in Turrialba, Costa Rica, the tour consisted of 70km and 2,500m+. But without a doubt the most characteristic was the climate of the area, which forced the runners to face extreme heat and humidity.
Thus, our two Riders took the exit sharing a sign with selected athletes from different countries. Each in their respective female and masculine tests were marking a good rhythm from minute 1, which placed them from the beginning in the head group.
Natalia was gradually unchecking her rivals until she reached the finish line, although she had to fight it until the end since her persecutors did not stop squeezing. For his part, Mantecón took the victory after imposing himself in a last epic section, and in which he left a higher level.
