He started running because he wanted to live an adventure

Ionel Cristian Manole, winner of ultramraratones as prestigious as ultra Sierra Nevada or Vall d’aran by utmb, He started running in 2018 mainly long distances.

He has been living in Spain since 2006, who came to study computer science, but did not finish the race and began to oppose firefighter, taking the place in Fuenlabrada in 2015, a profession that loves and allows him to perfectly combine his family life with the training and competitions.

As he says in his own words: “I started running because I wanted to live an adventure of several days through the mountain and signed up to tor des genes”. After that experience of more than 300 km, in which he was running quietly a week, he liked it and from there he pointed to other races, hooking in the end the long distance races.

Seeing that the Ultra was not given badly, it set out to do their best and see where he could go.

Ultradistance has given him the opportunity to find himself, of being surrounded for hours of nature, of being alone and evading everything. The races with which it feels best are the 100 km, but it also likes to insert them with some shorter ones, but the races of long distances are the ones that I like the most because it can take hours on the mountain.

But Ionel has his feet on the ground and his priority is his family, the second his work and then the hobbies.
