Saleta Castro is a professional triathlete, born in Pontevedra on November 3, 1987 that It stands out for completing 21 Ironman, being champion of Spain in all triathlon modalities.

From a young age he began to practice athletics and swimming, participating for the first time in a triathlon at age 18.

From a young age he began to stand out in the world of sport, but it was not until 9 years when he discovered the aquatic rescue and from there he made the leap to swimming.

He won in 2010 the Long Distance Elite National Championship and was selected to represent Spain in the World Triathlon series in Madrid in 2012.

It is known for being a professional triathlete and traveling the entire world performing long distance tests.

Saleta Castro He has demonstrated with the years that he can carry out different sports facets, participating in any competition in which among physical resistance, either in swimming, trail or Mountain Bike, in which he has achieved very good results. Since 2014 he lives in Lanzarote to improve his preparation in order to face the main triathlon tests internationally.

Saleta Castro sports career

At the beginning of his sports career, Saleta Castro represented the Galician Club Cidade de Lugo River, usually training at the Galician Sports Technification Center.

Subsequently, athletics was hooked and combined with swimming and cycling making the natural leap to the triathlon in 2001. Soon it began to see results and highlight nationally and internationally as number 1 in the ranking of the Spanish elite in 2009.

In 2010, number 3 is placed in the ranking of the Spanish Triathlon elite. The same year participates in the Ibiza Triathlon Championship and achieves a bronze medal.

Since then, he has traveled the world achieved numerous victories and podiums in different resistance and long distance tests worldwide.

In fact, the Spanish team competes in triathlons of Olympic and long distance.

In 2020 it was released in BTT cycling in stages, achieving a 3rd position in the mixed duo category after 639 kilometers and 7,500 meters of accumulated slope.

In addition, he has participated in tests such as Zarautz, Patagonman or Titan Desert, one of the most famous cycling races in the desert, where he participated in 2021 with Victor Benages, being third.

At present it is part of the Cidade de Lugo Club of River and has joined the Trail team Wild Trail Project, where 226ers is also present.
