Susana Rodríguez Gacio was born in Vigo (March 1988). He is a Spanish medical and athlete, Paralympic triathlon champion adapted in Tokyo 2020.

Who is Susi Rodríguez?
Susana Rodríguez He was born with a visual disability caused by albinism.
He has always combined his dedication to sport with passion for medicine.
It began in 1998 by practicing athletics at the Pontevedra Technification Center. But when in 2008 he did not get a place for the Paralympic World Cup, he decided to change to the adapted triathlon modality.
In 2009 he diploma in Physiotherapy in Vigo and in 2015 he graduated in Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela, year in which he began preparing the MIR and in 2016 he began his residence at the Clinical Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
His life linked the triathlon
In 2008 he decided not to compete but in 2010 he returned to try with the triathlon, where he would later achieve his greatest sporting achievements.
He began winning world championships in 2012, when he managed to arrive in Auckland (New Zealand). From that first place, many other in world championships came as European, already showing the spirit of struggle and overcoming of Susana Rodríguez.
In 2016, he competed in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with his guide Mabel Gallardo, being in fifth position in the individual triathlon test.
He qualified to participate in the Paralympic Games of Tokyo 2020, being the first Spanish to compete in two sports in Paralympic Games: Triathlon and Athletics.
He consecrated Paralympic Triathlon champion in the PTVI class with his guide at that time, Sara Loehr. In those same games he achieved the fifth position in 1500 meters of the same class, next to his guide Celso Comesaña.
In addition to the gold of the Tokyo Games, nine medals in the World Triathlon Championship adapted between 2012 and 2022, and eight medals in the European Triathlon Championship adapted between 2013 and 2023.
