THE ROUTE: PATAGONIA VERDE EDITION

THE NUTRITIONAL STRATEGY TO FACE ACROSS ANDES

For an event as tough as Across Andes, with a distance of 1,000 kilometers and 15,000 meters of positive elevation gain, nutrition, hydration and supplements are just as important a factor as physical fitness.

POWER

It is necessary to eat large quantities to alleviate the energy imbalance, so varying textures and flavors will help achieve better saturation. Gels, gummies and bars, in addition to being easy to transport, will help you get the necessary energy:

• GELS: They provide different sources and quantities of carbohydrates per gel, in addition to guaranteeing a relevant contribution of energy.

• HYDRAJELLY: It facilitates the consumption of carbohydrates during sports, and salty options help meet sodium needs.

• BARS: There are different options and formats based on natural ingredients (dates and fig) or oats.

• PROTEIN: It is interesting to provide a protein intake as a snack or when you have a more relaxed pace. VEGAN PROTEIN BAR provides a relevant amount of protein.

with RECOVERY DRINK You can also achieve a good balance between proteins and carbohydrates.

HYDRATION

Hydration is not only about drinking water, but also about ingesting adequate levels of minerals, with special mention of sodium, which will help maintain osmotic balance. The double-dose and single-dose formats are easy to transport while allowing you to alternate flavors and products depending on the time of the test.

• HYDRAZERO: consume from the moments before until once finished. Hypotonic drink with almost 500mg of sodium per sachet and three flavors.

• SUB9 SALTS ELECTROLYTES or CHEW SALTS: high sodium content per serving. An easy and effective way to have efficient hydration.

Combination of carbohydrates and salts:

• SUB9 RACE DAY: low osmolarity preparation allows the incorporation of a high amount of carbohydrates without compromising gastric emptying.

• SUB9 ENERGY DRINK: Light and refreshing drink that combines carbohydrates and proteins.)

SUPPLEMENTS

Vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are essential to help some functions such as muscle contraction, proper functioning of the immune system or protecting us from oxidative stress caused by intense exercise loads.

• CREATINE MONOHYDRATE: all and which is especially recommended for more explosive efforts, it can also be interesting in resistance disciplines due to its pH buffering function, glycogen resynthesis or acute recovery, reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.

• NITRO PRO: By consuming these supplements, we seek to promote greater blood flow and achieve a benefit linked to greater oxygen consumption, nutrient supply or replenishment of energy in the form of ATP.

• MAGNESIUM: It is the most abundant intracellular cation next to potassium. Bisglycinate is without a doubt one of the forms with the greatest bioavailability.
