Meet Agata Domínguez, winner of sponsorship for her personal challenge

Ágata was one of more than 100 participants of the contest that in 226ers organized at the end of December and in which we gave a sponsorship to a person whose history and challenge will marry the brand's philosophy.

What is your story?

My name is agata Domínguez, I am 22 years old, it all started on August 23, 2013 with a challenge that I put on myself and I wanted to go from being a sedentary person to an active person and athlete, so I learned about nutrition on your own account and began to walk half an hour, so I went from regret 72kg to 50kg. I share my story on Instagram @moleto365 days to show that If we really want to achieve a goal, and we are going for him we can achieve it, the challenge consisted of giving a change to my life in 365 days and so it was, in this way I considered making a different challenge every year and trying to help other people. I am currently starting to compete in Trail with a Granada club (Bicha Trail & Mountain) and I am getting things that I never thought I would get, thanks to my change of life I am another person, with many goals and challenges in mind. And I go for them with great enthusiasm and effort!

What is your challenge and why have you chosen it?

The challenge I am going to choose is to make the Andalusian Championship of Ultratrail forests of the South, 125 kms with 4,000+ in the best possible way. With this I am going to raise funds for the study of rare diseases, since I have a relative (my cousin) who suffers a rare degenerative disease and there is no better excuse to perform kilometers than helping other people, so I will put all my effort and all my steps for this cause. Also, my little goals throughout the season will be to do the SnowRunning Andalusia Championships, Vertical Kilometer and Mountain Races, in addition to making the Circuit of the Cup of Andalusia of Mountain Races.

Why did you decide to turn your life?

At the end of 2013 I wanted to give my life a change since With just 21 years I did not recognize me, he was not a person with objectives and much less with dreams or challenges How is it possible not to want to overcome when you are young and have everything ahead? Until one day I looked in the mirror, He weighed 72kg and did not recognize the person he saw And since then I set out to learn about nutrition and start resuming sport little by little (I started walking 30 ’3 days per week) Until in April My father pointed to a 14kms trail And it was the spark that ignited in me the sport that I practice right now and has hooked me, 22kg less and I have a thousand challenges in mind, already in September 2014 I completed my first ultradist (not competitive) 120kms from Gibraltar until Ubrique (my town).

What led you to compete?

Well, it's very simple. For the question we should all ask ourselves when something paralyzes us "And why not?" Why not try? If I have a challenge and a dream to fulfill why not try to count on your support? If I believe in my idea and I want to get it, then without hesitation a second.

Has anyone helped you on this path?

In Nutrition and Sports I started alone, reading a thousand pages, dedicating many hours and informing me as well as possible about healthy eating No rare diets or miracle but learn to eat, know what like and what it does in my body and what it gives. In sport I have always had my father's support, that he is an ultra -edge athlete and always insisted on the importance of doing sports. Luckily he did not give up! Right now It is my best kilometers. One of the best sensations of my life has been to make my first trail and my first ultra -stress with him. At home I have had the support of the family that from the moment one understood how important it was for me to raise this change.

What are you going to talk to us on the blog?

Well, in the blog I will talk about the advances of the Audiovisual Project "Forests del Sur", which is in the process of creation with two Sanpedreñas producers (María Romero and Memi Pérez) I will publish Results, videos and advances of training that thanks to Octavio Pérez I will have during this 2015, since he did not hesitate a second to collaborate with my project and with which I have been training since the beginning of the month. I will talk about healthy life, changes in food and sport habits (Always taking into account that I am not a professional or one of another, simply from my own experience) also about motivation to achieve our objectives and our greatest challenges.
